I recently start a gutter business. I bought a truck for $3350 and a machine for $9000. The 1st month of the business, we earned about $5000, but had a little bit over $5000 in expenses..office, material, gas, marketing and such. This second month, we are into the 2nd week, and now we are finally positive $1400, with all expenses paid, so we are now ahead. We charge about $3.75-$4 per foot. Do you think we should be charging more? What can we do to lower our expenses. Where can we get cheaper coil?

I have always dreamt of owning by own business and would really love something I could do out of my home. I create gift baskets for family members every holiday season and have so much fun being creative with it. Any advice or start-up tips current business owners could give me?

I am looking to start my own business while maintaining a life at home with my kids. I would like anyone who reads this to respond if you have an office or know of someone who is looking for someone like me. We can talk and hopefully negotiate. I know its hard to wonder what kind of person you may be dealing with being you don't even know, but I am happy to meet with you and work out a deal. I am young 28, but trust me I am very reliable. My kids & the bills in the mailbox make me reliable. I have a strong work history, ethic. I was a former manager (GM) and now I am hoping to launch off my own business. I'll also have more time for my family. Thanks. ps I will even work out a % for referals on jobs or accounts.

Does anyone know better ways of marketing an item rather than just placing it in the popular listing for that item? I'm a new seller and am hoping to start designing football related t shirts, starting with Scotland "Tartan Army". Want to target more "general" shoppers and not just people looking for t shirts or football shirts. England, Wales and Ireland coming soon....Promise! Heeeeelp. Check out seller rcgl29

I am now ready to sell all travel packages (cruise, air, cer rental, etc). Where is a good place to advertise?

Besides the normal newspaper, website, or phonebook. I'm trying to think of a different way.

I also want to start a travel group that meets annually to vacation together! Some people would like to vacation with more people, just not the usual family members.

All help will be appriated!

Thankx!

I run a small business that caters to Truck Drivers. 97% of our business is conducted over the phone all over the U.S. Most of the time, these Truck Driver's are VERY upstanding, and show us a great deal of respect seeings how my office is 100% ran by females. Recently, we had some very outlandish behavior come from a client that was directed at my assistant. She didn't handle it well, and he continued on until it became very nasty. What I'm looking for is some "one liners" to put these guys in their place without loosing business or reputation (which is totally word of mouth). Does anyone have some ideas? REMEMBER we have to be nice!
