My son lives in a small group home run by a man who lives there with 4 guys. This is not going to be fast. You've got to go to the state Bureau of Mental Health services or whatever yours is called, and ask for the requirements and applications to open a group home. You could ask his rep where to start. Remember - don't take "no" from anyone who can't say "yes" in the first place! In other words, if the person is not high enough up to grant you the permits, you don't have to listen if they say no. You'll be dealing with Medicaid money to get everyone's funding. I hope you do it! They need more family-style homes with loving people who don't leave after 8 hours.
