I have a recipe for an energy supplement drink. Can't seem to get an answer about how to proceed now. Do I "trademark" the "recipe/idea?" Do I "patent" the "recipe/idea?" Do I need a lawyer to be able to protect the "recipe/idea?"

Anyone have any answers about exactly what needs to be done now? I do know that we need a Co-Packer and I am trying to gather a list of those...even that is not terribly easy. They say you cannot find Co-Packers listed anywhere on the internet. They also say you must only use a Co-Packer who makes the same type of product on their lines that you are making, for obvious reasons.

An unrelated lawyer where I work told me today that getting a lawyer would be overkill and ridiculous...he told me that he thinks just protecting the recipe and the name should be good enough, but didn't say how. Would not take the time to give me any additional info. Anyone know?

Thanks so much!

I know a lot of you have a youravon website just for you, does this cost money or is this something all the reps can get for free is they want? Also, if someone visits that site, then clicks shop, the order gos through you and not avon directly ?? thank you and hopfully that makes sense :)

I lost my job last week and I am looking for a business to run from my home office. I like sales and marketing. I am not interested in MLM opportunities because what I have read here they are all scams and I don't think I would feel comfortable selling over priced products.

My paraents were in AMWAY in the late 70's and early 80's and as a kid, I watched them loose most of their friends and lost touch with family members because of the hope they put in the soap. Eventually, the lost of the people around them affected their marriage and they got divorced.

I am looking for something I can feel good about and not deceive a person into something that is not real. Any ideas?

I'm seventeen and a junior in high school. I'm looking for a great business idea that could grow into something large, but of course still be something I could start on my own. I already have strong business background from school (DECA/Academy of Finance) and know a lot about how to run a business, I just don't know what type of business would be good. I've already ran an electronics store on eBay, as well as a t-shirt company on CafePress.com. Both had unseen disadvantages.

I was a professional organizer for 1 year and I discovered that I hated the hands on part of my business, and I found myself getting behind in the day to day office tasks that needed to get done. I can't seem to get the desire out of my system though. I still get emails for people wanting my services, but I get more excited about sitting down with them to help them formulate plans rather than actually going through their junk. I also still miss the workshops and public speaking I used to do. Should I try to just do these things, and if so, who do I market to in the public speaking sector. My target audience and passion are homemakers (all kinds).

I Think there does not seem to be any such firm doing these services, consolidating things from various exporters and export them out of India, such as food stuffs, garments, Importers out of India, are looking for such firms, who can pick up thier paid for merchandises and keep in their custody, and mix them as per individual needs and export to the party. A concept working well out of India. Any comments.

I'm looking for a product to add to my home office phone that will create a log of incoming/outgoing telephone calls (number, time, duration of call, etc). Similar to the printout you receive with your monthly long distance bill...except I want real-time data. Is anyone aware of a device and/or software that does this for a regular home telephone (not VOIP, not PBX, just a regular "home phone")
