My Brother is a sub-contractor (renovation building). He didn't have a company yet, so he works for himselves. One of his customer had verbally agree that they will pay the outstanding payment once a week after my brother submit the claims. No contract was signed.

The boss didn't keep his promise to pay the o/s payment once a week. Everytime my brother ask for the payment, then the bos said"Yes! Yes! We're trying to prepare it! Next week you can take the payment already!" This kind of situation has been show many times. my brother haven't get his payment for 2 months already.

What can he do right now?

Because if I had it now, I would keep it.Though it may not be the honest thing to do. In the past i was "Honest Abe", and i think i gave a @#*+! load of money away to someone it did not belong to. I think about it alot. So, of course i have to make-up for lost time.

I'm working as a web and application development contractor in my off-hours and I'm starting to pull in more business than I can handle. I eventually want to quit my day job and turn the consulting operation into a full-time business.

I work out of a home office and have few personal assets. I expect the business to grow over time and I will eventually want to hire full-time employees and purchase office space.

Sole proprietorship or LLC? Why?

I have my CDA. I have many years of experience with young children. In the near future I would like to open a daycare. I would like to hopefully get some helpfull hints on running the business side, so I can become better prepared. What are some things that you wish were told to you before you opened a daycare to help you become better prepared? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I run my own business and I am unable to delegate any of my tasks to another person. I have an influx of various deadlines to meet involving written presentations, I feel that I am no longer enjoying what I used to love. Anyone else been there and done that?

I want to start a business/service making homemade invitations/announcements (for weddings, babies, birthdays, etc). I want to start out small and see if it grows into anything (i.e., online only). I would like to create a website detailing my services, but how do I find out how to create my webpage where people can put in their payment info securely and i get paid this way? Do need to do anything about letting the IRS know I have this business and that I am getting additional income from it? I really don't know much about starting an online business... any detailed information (or websites) would be helpful. I have done searches on the web but have only found high level info (like how to write a business plan, think about who your target customers are, etc). I'm looking for more detailed info like how to build my webpage, how to register my biz name, how to set-up receving payments, if I need to trademark anything, etc. Thanks in advance!

I am working for a small company. It is a small conveinent store and I work at 2 store of theirs. I have worked a total of 54 and 50 hrs the past few eeks for them combined. 20 hrs one store and 30 at the other. Are they suppose to pay me overtime for those hrs over 40 even though I am not getting more than 40 at one store? Some people have told yes cause its the same company. I want to get a few opinions from here.
