i did some remodling improvements on a home and now they refuse to acknowledge me or pay me.

Well first as a mechanic I have to tell you it is imposable to put a "mechanics" lien on a home, that is only for cars. you need to consult you attorney and he or she will file the appro. papers and motions. I need to remind you that in some states there is an "Amount Due" (I.G. you have to be owed more then $1000.00) before the court will place the lien on the property. Also note that you may be insured for that by the company that insures your company. If you are not a business, by the way you are not able to file a lien, the court will tell you, "sorry about your luck!"

You are probably too latge. You usually have to file the lien within 90 days of starting the work.

you make get the forms, like the answer above says at your county courthouse, but each state may vary.
