can I pay by check, no credit card!

2007-02-11 07:35:30 · 1 answers · asked by jackie p 1

I have an amazing deal with my dad where if I pay him 4000 dollars I can have his 2002 BMW 330i, which is in amazing condition. Obviously I will never see a deal like this again, so I really want to get the money so I can buy it.

I have $1000 + in savings, but if possible I don't want to end up with nothing left. I'm not allowed to take money from my stocks or anything, so I've got to make it.

The most logical solution is obviously to get a job, but every teen in my area (I'm 15) wants a job and they are pretty much all taken. Plus many are 16 or 18+

So, does anyone have any good, LEGAL, and reasonable ideas???

I'll give a best answer to a good response.

Thanks!!

After 20 years at the same company my job was terminated due to an injury (long story) I got a letter from the company asking for information about my divorce (proof) and the letter said they are going to send me the money in a check.

What should I do to avoid being taxed? Can I put that check in another 401K or ???

I am very confused!!!

Thanks for any help,
Marie

We each have our own checking and savings accounts, and once we got engaged we established joint checking and savings too. I think 6 accounts for the two of us is a little much...so how can we organize our finances while still having a "small" sense of individuality? We're considering merging our savings accounts, but keeping separate checking accounts as our own "piggy banks." The bulk of our paychecks will go to our joint accounts to pay for bills, food, etc...while a small percent will go to our individual accounts. Good idea? What have some other newly weds done?

As long as I'm alive, I'll be paying for my own debts and expenses, but once I pass and still have remaining debt, do my children living in a different State have to pay off that debt? I own very little (no real estate, stocks, etc.) and have not written a LWT.

I received a check and didn't noticed it was postdated. Of course, I took it to the bank and depostited it. Days later, I learned it didn't go through - and added $60 in fines. I tried to get the fines back from the check writer, but she just pointed out that I took it in too early. Can I ask the bank to waive some fees? Are they allowed to run the check through before the date on it? I know I didn't notice the date on the check, but I feel like the bank should have noticed, too.

I'm trying to purchase a web-hosting package from yahoo, and I don't have a credit card. I do have a debit card, but I'm not being able to make the purchase.

I heard one can't make internet payments through a debit card (supposedly one needs a credit card). Is it true?

I have Roth IRA accounts with several investment companies, and I contribute to more than one each year while keeping the total contribution below the allowed maximum. I have also moved some of the funds between companies in the past.
So I am starting to wonder how the IRS is keeping track of all this. My fear is that when I start using the money in 20 years the IRS is going to ask me for proof that I did not overcontribute in any year. It would be hard for me to do now, and impossible in 20 years if I don't improve my recordkeeping. Thanks!

The terms are incredible and the finance charges are too good to be true - 2 to 3 %! Can you borrow money from a money-lender that is not licensed in the United States? Can they be licensed for both the U.S. and the U.K.? How do I make sure everything is legit? I need money to make repairs to my home and the only collateral I have IS my home (I can't afford to lose it if these loans are crooked). I am 45, my home is paid for, and my only income is disability. Thank you, Terri
