I Googled "best CD rates in the country" and found a Swiss bank that pays up to 12% for a 5-year CD. How can I investigate whether this is a safe investment?

The person at the bank that is helping me get a card said I should pay the minimun.
I have read several articles saying it is best to pay off entire balance each month.

We are a young family (in out mid 20's) who own our home and have two young children. My husband is getting a large promotion- bringing in about 25K more a year in salary and about another 25-35K a year in bonuses. We really know nothing about investing money. We have a bad rap sheet of blowing extra money when we get it. With two kids now, and possibly a third on the way we need to be more responsible with the way we spend. What ways would you suggest we invest this extra income that we will have? I'm interested in anything from the best ways to save for our kids' college to our retirement and any other smart investments. Thank you in advance for your input! :)

My husband has a savings bond that has matured. Neither one of us has ever had a savings bond and we don't know what to do with it. Any help would be great. Also it is in his name but it is also in his mothers name, who he hasnt seen in 31 years. Can he still cash it even tho someone elses name is on it too?

I have a LARGE amount of student loans, both federal (consolidated) and private. My private loans are on a variable interest rate. I feel like I am spinning my wheels paying each month to a balance that doesn't seem to move.

What can I do? Should I put the fixed rate loans in deferrment and pay double on the variable rate loan?

I was just wondering if Bank of America allows you to direct deposit advance money online similar to how Wellsfargo does. I looked around the site, but I couldn't find it.

I trusted her, even when she got her own safety box, then she removed some money from the joint account, then she stoped helping with the household bills, and now she stop putting her money in the joint account. She always had a good excuse each time and I never question her trustworthyness. I love her, I payed all the bills, wine and dine her and saved some money for our retirement. I taught she was saving up for our retirement too but now I am thinking she may have 'other' motives. She doesn't want to talk about her savings and I don't see any statement in the mail for her nor any thing when me file our income tax. What should I do?
