Does anyone know if it is possible to get an offshore Mortgage? Which is a more competative rate than all of the high street banks and doesn't try to rip off the people that are still keeping this countries head above water?????

your asking for trouble if you go looking for mortgages overseas.
Find a good Mortgage broker in your country and see what they can come up with.

Yes it is possible, but at the same time depends on which countries you are looking at. From what you said, it sounds like in Europe, and my understanding is that some banks the Eurozone are offering this service. Though, i'm not definate on the source, Eastern Europe countries have been noted in one of the Financial News papers as a destination for offshore mortgages.

I can't believe you think UK mortgages expensive. I wouldn't go to all the hassle to get 1% off a rate of interest with an overseas mortgage
