Oh god don't even start me. I'll give you the highlight of my Halifax experience. Whilst visiting a mortgage advisor she was very persistant about giving me a credit card I didn't want. I was desperate to get out by the end and away from her incompetants (which is a whole different story) so I just told her to get on with it. I'm not a UK resident by the way. The card never arrived. The next card was sent to the branch so we could collected which we did the next time we were in the country. I only used the card once, the next time about 10 days later it had been blocked. I called and was told the minimum payment hadn't been paid. I had never received a statement which the lad on the phone, who knew incidentally that I lived in Spain confidentally told me that the statements were being sent to the branch in Slough as well. Helpful given that I lived 2000 km away. I later found out that the payment expected wasn't even for my purchase but for one made fraudulentally on the first card. The young man in the fraud department was extremely rude, basically saying that they had no responsibility if the card was lost. Which they quite clearly did as I never saw it. It took weeks to resolve, they messed it up completely and eventually were so embarrassed by the whole thing they cancelled that card and didn't even charge me for the thing I had bought.
That's just one thing, I have a list, though in fairness it's not only Halifax that are rubbish, most banks are the same as far as I can tell.

Yes i used to be with the Halifax but left along time ago. Am now the smile.co.uk - great bank!
My problem was that I has a personal loan and insurance against sickness. When I became ill for 2 months from work I tried to claim but was refused until I was diagnosed by a consultant - a cost and hassle to myself. A doctors note and the fact I could not go to work for 2 months did not mean jack!
Anyways, I tried to take off the loan insurance and the only way to do it was to get another loan to pay the original loan off, less the cost for insurance. Guess what I was turned down!

A BIG YES!!!! They offer protection plans for redundancy and when you have paid them for years then eventually need them they will not pay out!! With every job seekers claim you have to send them proof of signing...fair enough.......but also ALL RECORDS of job applications, interviews, any unsuccessful letters etc....
Job hunting is hard enough without the extra paperwork and hastle from these idiots.
If you have payed into a protection scheme then surely you are eligible for your payments to be covered for a year, no matter what!!!
Everyone please check the clauses before taking out any of these SHAM policies, a MONEY MAKING RACKET once again from BIG COMPANIES!!

thats good, you had the option of doing it a faster way but you chose to queue up for no reason?
Its annoying when you have loads of people ahead of you in the queue who could have used the machines, hope you dont do it again.
