I just got my checking and savings account opened in November, but I'm moving out of town this weekend. I don't want to close my accounts b/c I still will go to college here in this town and i'll be using my debit card alot here for gas and also the bank charges an early closing fee on accounts. Should I transfer to a more local bank or keep this one? Also, is it necessary for me to reorder new checks? I still have almost 2 boxes of checks left b/c i never use my checks. Will the bank make me reorder new ones? plus, do i just go into the bank and tell them i'm moving and tell them my new address? Thanks for any help.

I have a VISA gift card with a few remaining dollars on it. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to use it? I tried gas stations and convenience stores, but the card gets declined. Or do you think I should just bag the idea?

I always pull out at least $100 from the ATM every time.

I have friends who never use cash for anything. It seems like they are using Credit Cards for everything. I suspect when there is a terrorist attack we will need that cash because Credit Cards will be worthless. Remember the NYC power failure a few years ago, no one had money and they suffered because businesses would not accept Credit or Debit Cards.

I am over $20,000 in debt from two years of college, and now I have a job in the industry I went into college for. The problem is I only make 20,000 a year in my job (which i really like), and have other bills, rent, car payments, insurance, groceries etc like everyone else. Does anyone have any tips on how to pay my loan off faster? I make my monthly payments, but the way I am paying them off now it will take me over 6 years to pay. I cant afford higher payments. My job is full-time and I cant handle any more work. Does anyone have any tips or advice from their own experiences?

If we were allowed to keep the intrest, without being taxed,on simple savings accounts, wouldn't more people be incline to save. Also the banks would have more money to lend for mortgages.I don't know how much the government would lose in revenue, but it might not be that much.I think it's a win-win situation

let's say I worked at GB with 50k GBP salary, and GBP/USD is 1.50. After 3 years, my salary increased to 70k, and GBP/USD jumps to 2.00. Does that mean that my purchasing power has gone up not just 20k, but it has gone up to about 100k. And this means, I can import a shitload of goods from the US with a decent salary?

I'm trying to pay off all my credit cards and seem to be having trouble with how to figure out the finance charges to add to my payment.
O.K., it's like this, if the credit card company sends me a bill for a minumn payment of $100.00, I know that through intrest and finance charges, about $1.00 will go to principle and $99.00 to the credit card company (not true, but you get my point). I have been sending more then the mimuna payment, but I'm not seeing any results, and what I mean by sending more then the minimun, I'm sending $50 to $100 more. How can I fugure out how much more to send with all the charges added to see some results in my payments?

Thank you for the help yahoo friends
