If you buy turbotax, do you have to buy it every year after that?

Only if you want to use turbotax each year to do your taxes. If you purchase it for 2007 and used it for your 2006 taxes, your information transfers. But if you decide to go to a CPA or other software you can do that even if you use turbo tax this year.

Yes, because every year the tax forms change. Also, there are always changes made to the tax code so you wnat o make sure that the software you are using is up to date.

it uses last years program to get this year's started up and if you have problems with one year, it carries them over to the following years.
