Credit card debt adds up to about $21,000 and the only thing I seem to be paying is late fees and interest. I do nt see any hope because I'm still in grad school and can't work a second job.

This is my biggest worry as council tax is my largest household expence. My only income is from a paper round but because I have savings from previous income I have to pay full council tax. I will have to consider taking part in medical experiments to raise income. Funeral expenses are worrying me to death as well

I am kind of in a tight spot financially and one of my friends told me to write a letter describing my situation. At the end of this letter I should ask for $1-$5 to be sent to my p.o. box to help out. Not only does this seem extremely pathetic to me, and I doubt anyone will actually do it, is it even legal? If it works it could definatly help out.

I have tried Wells Fargo, Citi, Prudent ect. All declined. I could go to those payday loans places but I would be paying them off forever and get even more bad credit. I am so desperate I even went to look for loan sharks. If I dont find a loan soon I will lose everything I have worked so hard for

He has worked for the same company for close to 30 years, but to "young" to qualify for retirement. His health insurance has not covered much of the bills to date and he has been going through this for close to a year. He was receiving half of his pay through a company disability program but that is gone. He has gone through the 3 months of salary that it is recommended we all save. He is also worried that if and when he can go back to work will he still have a job, FMLA ran out a long time ago.
I have found resources for people that are ill and have a family, but I guess if you are single person and have worked hard your whole life and saved as advised your just SOL. Meanwhile, the medical bills pile up while you are just trying to keep a roof over your head and the heat on. Something has got to be done in this country about health care. NO one should have to become bankrupt to stay alive, and still have a little dignity left.

I have had a bank account forever, and I was maybe 2 to 3 hundred past living check to check. Every now and then I'd get hit with Fees, and it sucks cause it put me behind on everything.

So recently I closed my account bought a (Real Nice) safe. I manage my own money. I write down every expense and my balance the time of day and the date. I'm not going to open another account until I have at least 4000 for savings and 1000 for checking other wise it just doesn't seem worth having a bank account.

What say you?
