I would start by reading The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Great book, great, EASY plan.
Or take his class in your area called Financial Peace University (FPU) go to his website to find a class near you: www.daveramsey.com
Remember, it will take a little time to get out of debt but SOOO worth it! To quote Dave: "Your money is your biggest wealth building tool."

I TOTALLY agree with mldjay. Dave Ramsey can guide you through becoming totally debt free. I read his book "The Total Money Makeover" a month and a half ago and I've already paid off 13,200 in debt without making any more money. It's all about behavior modification. Check out Dave's website. If you can find a local radio station that carries his show, I'd recommend it.

If you have one already, it doesn't hurt to go over it with them. Otherwise, paying off any debts, especially high interests that are not tax deductible is a good start. Good luck to building your wealth.
