We all have to have a bank account these days. The days of getting your wages in cash are long gone. So we are all at the mercy of the banks. I changed jobs recently and when asked for my bank details gave one digit wrong. Pay check was returned from bank. I was told it had goine in, went shopping and was charged £75 for every transaction I made with my card. (one transaction was for £9.99. Total charges £75 - for three small transactions, less than £100 overdrawn.

read to your kid for a hour ? I am going to start "story time" for kids 3-6. I read to them for an hour and the parents can either drop them off or stay and listen. I don't know how much to charge. Do you think that the local library would be o.k with it if I did it there?

My dad always said the hearse doesnt stop at the bank on the way to the cemetary.
All my familes life (and mine) we have stuggled to make ends meet and now we have enought money to be very comfortable. My father has to go to a nursing home and the nursing home is taking it all! all those years of saving. He hates the thought of it. No matter how hard you try the government ends up with your money. The more assets and money you have, the more they take. When people who havnt got a cent get in free and get a pension. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

i opened this type of one year-savings accoount. ok. I deposited 600 bucks in it. Then, this account requires me to deposit at least 50 bucks each month. Alright?
So lets say I do deposit 50 bucks each month. So one year from now I will have the $600 and the $50 times 12 months. So one year from now I will have a total of $1200. It says that the dividend rate is 4.790% and annual percent yield is 4.90%.
I don't really understand those terms. I just wanna know how much money will be in my account one year from now.

Yesterday I used an ATM twice. I checked my online banking page last night and both of the transactions appeared and were reflected in my balance. Now I just checked my online banking page again and those two transactions have completely disappeared and my balance is bigger... as though the withdrawals never happened.

Why is this? This has never happened to me before. I'm not gonna call my bank and ask them... just in case I actually got that lucky. But I'm sure not counting my chickens because this seems really strange.

Can anyone explain this to me?
