I have numerous checkings and I keep $2000 unregistered in each one in case of emergency or a mathmatical error.

It took me awhile to get that much in each one but I did it and now I pretend it isn't there. Such a great feeling when you know you have some emergency back up!!

If they are smart, very little. Investments are wiser than letting money sit around or be spent frivolously.
