After 7 years of scrimping and saving, I've finally paid off my mortgage. I'm single, under forty with no kids. I haven't put anything in RRSPs (401k in US?). I'd like my money to start making money. What's are my options?

Ok the deal is, I had a car emergency this month that soaked up all my funds.....Now my rent is due....I wrote the check and they received it on Saturday....I have 950 bucks in my account and my rent is 1150....I get paid on Friday and I will have more than enough to cover the difference....what do you think I should do? I've never been late on one bill in my life, and I'm freaking out....It's so embarrasing to ask my friends....so help! I need advice!! (Please be kind....)

Electricity, insurance, loan repayments, phone… the list goes on and on.

I sometimes get frustrated and angry that so much of my money goes in bills. Then I have to tell myself that bills are what I get for choosing the lifestyle I have chosen. If I didn’t have an electricity bill I wouldn’t have much of a lifestyle. The same goes for just about every bill.

Which bills annoy you the most?

My checking account is overdrawn and I don't get paid again until November 16. I still have checks outstanding. I've returned some stuff that I've bought, but that hasn't made a dent. I'm trying to find out if I can get an advance on my salary, but the waiting is driving me crazy. In the meantime, I can't concentrate on work and I can't ask my family for help as my mom just gives me a hard time telling me I spend to much money, etc. I could just burst into tears right now. I don't know what to do.

Hi

I need to raise £5,000 and am in a dilemma...
Option 1 - I have an opportunity to take a pension from my ex employer of £2,000 cash but if I do this I lose the employer contributions which totals £6,000. I would then still need to borrow a further £3,000.
Option 2 is to borrow the full £5,000 from a bank or mortgage.
What should I do?
Cheers
Steve

I clip coupons, shop at the discount store, and only buy what we need, but meats and paper products and all this other crap adds up, and even though I scrimp and save and try to be the best home economist that I can be, I still feel like I spend too much money. Am I just cheap, or has food gotten really expensive lately? Does anyone have any advice? Does anyone else ever feel guilty just for buying food and other stuff to live off of? I'm at my wit's end with this!

What will be the best way to send $25 to a friend in the Philippines? These funds will be sent
occasionaly, perhaps once a month from myself in San Jose, CA.
My family does not have a banking account in the Philippines at this time, is one needed?
