If you're still at secondary school, work experience is usually part of the curriculum so you don't get paid. However, if you find something you enjoy, and they like you, it often can lead to part time work beyond your posting. As for where to go, why not try to find something in a career you're considering as an adult? Its a good way to figure out if you're making the right career choices. Or, go for something you'd really enjoy. My husband is a computer game designer and they take work experience kids on as game testers every now and then.

work experience is what it says an experience. Unfortunately you do not get paid. As to the best place to go, have a think what you fancy doing when you finally leave full time education. Then that must be your starting point for choice

This is something which at the moment im just going through with my daughter. If your still at school then no you dont get paid for it sorry. You need to think what you intend to do when you have left school, if you want to do retail for example then have a word with your careers teacher who should give you a list of the stores near to you that offer the work experience to your age group. Unfortunatley you cant do some things as you need to be over a certain age for insurance purposes. Have a word with your careers adviser im sure he/she will point you in the right direction. Good luck with your future career xxx

work experiance should be a fun active working environment so you can actually learn something in the world! as you are going to be ther for about 2 weeks you may as well find somewher fun to work that wont be too hard! and it is not compulsory for you to get paid but some employers do pay a small amount or give you gift vouchers as a thankyou etc.

You need to go to somewhere the does the type of role you would be interested in as a career - if you want to be a fireman there is no point working in an office. You may need to work as a volunteer to gain knowledge - why don't you speak to a careers advisor or employment agency to weigh up your options?
