I am 20 I work full time and go to school full time.
I wanted to finish my last two years out of town, and take some time off from working. This should be coming in less than a year. I live on my own. Parents help is not an option, they are in enough financial trouble. I thought I had it under control. Until my car broke down and now need a new transmission. Now I am digging in to my savings. Rent is $400. I paid off my insurance for the next year. I got to pay $1000 for school. I spend $100 in gas a month. Food is fixable. I make $1500 a month. I am I think financially wise for my age.Your money advice is not wasted on me. Thanks.

I have plenty of student loans some are 4.5% 2 are 17.5% and the rest are like 5.75%, tomorrows the last day to consolidate to "lock" in a low rate. Does this mean my 4.5% interest loans will go UP to 5 something? Or will they stay the same. When I started the application it said it would consolidate them for 5.5%, what do "they" get out of consolidating my loans? I don't have to repay them yet since I'm not done college. Are there any pitfalls to consolidating loans?

I have been thinking about this for a while now and especially since I wrote a paper about it (well...kinda...). Anyway...is it possible for someone to get a job that pays above minimum wage if they are an unskilled worker (no degree)? If so...could you guys tell me some websites where I could search for them or even some specific jobs with a few details on what you do. Thanks for any help you can give me...

I was divorced in 2003 and the judgement and lien was entered in 2005. When the lien was placed on my home, he was no longer on the deed. The judgement is for a credit card account he opened prior to the divorce being final, but without my knowledge and I was not on the account or ever notified of the account. My question is whether this is legal and what can I do about it (hopefully without an attorney).

I have been offered $5,000 with a monthly periodic rate of 2.916% and a 34.990% Annual percentage rate. I know this is not good but just how bad is it? Would I be absolutely out of my mind to take it?

Hi,
I just started work (college grad) and I need suggestions for starting a savings account.
I saw HSBC offeres an online account with 4.8% interest. Are there other online savings which offer more? Is there any reasons I wouldnt want to use this as opposed to a regular savings account? Any other advice?

thanks
