I have been thinking about this for a while now and especially since I wrote a paper about it (well...kinda...). Anyway...is it possible for someone to get a job that pays above minimum wage if they are an unskilled worker (no degree)? If so...could you guys tell me some websites where I could search for them or even some specific jobs with a few details on what you do. Thanks for any help you can give me...

There is a lot of jobs that will pay above minimum, but you always have to start from the bottom if you do not have any experience or education. Just be good at what you do end with time it will pay off.

Three of the fastest-growing jobs in the US are 'unskilled' - no college degree required. One, I remember, was air traffic controller! They're out there, but you'll have to look for them.

There are very few places that pay minimum wage (at least for very long). Find something you enjoy doing and the money will follow.

Where I live, fast food restaurants start above the minimum wage. 8.50/hr advertised on one KFC/Taco Bell marquee.

Of course, it depends on where you live, but I work for Sam's Club and they do not start below $7.00 even in maintenance!
