ABC Bhd owns a building in Puchong that was built at a cost of RM 5 million in 1997. The building was used as a manufacturing facility from 1997 to 2006. However, economic conditions have made it necessary to consolidate ABC’s operations, and the building has been leased as of 1 January 2007, as a warehouse for 10 years at an annual rental of RM240,000. Taxes, insurance and normal maintenance costs are to be paid by the lessee. At the end of the 10 year period, ABC may offer the lessee a renewal of the lease or again use the building in its operations. The building is being depreciated on a straight line basis over a 40 year life.In early 2007 Miss Lee, a new staff in the accounts department in ABC, was assigned to review the building accounts and raised a question to Mr Tan, her supervisor, concerning the carrying value of the Puchong building. As of 31 December 2006, Miss Lee feels the Puchong building was impaired and should be written down in value.

I know that when using GAAP you subtract COGS from Revenue to get Gross Profit. Then you subtract non-manufacturing costs, such as selling and administration, in order to get NET PROFIT (before taxes). I'm unclear as to how a variable costing income statement differs from this one. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

I just got a position selling medical carts for medications and also nursing stations. My company has had some changes in management so everyone is new to the company. I'm trying to find out who I need to speak with within the hospital that would make the decisions of purchasing or ordering these medical carts. All the carts are custom made to order. Any help is so greatly appreciated.

so i got two jobs at the same time, and figured i would see how it worked out and as it turns out, one job i love a whole lot more then the other. they aren't serious jobs (the one i like it is at a family run grocery store) and the one that isn't working out is at dairy queen and i would keep with both, but i'm a junior in high school and i don't think i can juggle driver's ed, the load of classes i'm taking at school, and two jobs on top of that. my jobs don't know i have two jobs, so i wouldn't mention that while quitting, and i won't be able to give two weeks notice.

could i quit the job i don't like by just not showing up? or could i just call and tell them i don't think i'm going to have the time to work there? i feel bad because they're nice people, i just hate the work and don't have the time.

My dad sent off a cheque for £90 to a company in Jersey, along with an order form for some DVDs. He received 2 of the DVDs which cost total £15 so he called them to ask about the others he ordered. He was told they were out of stock but he should receive them within the next two weeks. Then a fortnight later when he had not received any further products from the company he called again, only to be greeted by a recorded message stating the company had gone into administration and gave an address to write to if there were any problems. Well, my dad wrote a letter asking for either the products he had ordered, and paid for, as the cheque had been cashed, or for a refund of the money he had overpaid (about £75). He received a letter back stating that he could not have the money back as there was no money left to pay him back with????? Surely this can't be right? I understand he would have better protection had he paid with a credit card but surely he is entitled to a refund somehow?
