How does your company define "corporate casual" business attire? Do they have a written policy? How is it enforced?
How do you define it?

As the others have said, business casual is no tie or jacket for the men. The women go more with casual slacks. We do have a written policy and there are some items which are forbidden (shorts, t-shirts, jeans, tank tops, etc.). If you violate the dress code, you may get a warning from your department supervisor. If it became chronic, would hear from a VP and possibly fired. I've never seen that happen, and I've seen really awful dress code violations.

usually means nice jeans, khakis, dockers, shirts.
women sometimes wear capris, sundresses , shorter more casual type skirts.

there is not a written policy. when the casual business attire came out there were suggested guidelines. we have not had a need for the fashion police to enforce it yet .lol.

i can think of two incidences that did require a manager to talk to an employee and make some suggestions as to how to modify their dress. it needs to be handled tactfully . employees are valued and if there is a dress code problem , then the manager can use this as an opportunity to educate / coach the employee.

Corporate casual usually means slacks and a single color sport shirt for men. For women, it would be again slacks or a skirt and a single color blouse. Business casual does not require a tie or a coat/jacket. It does not usually allow jeans or t-shirts.

I would equate this with business casual - khakis or dress pants and a button down shirt, or sweater twinset. Most places I have worked, each manager enforces the dress code in their department.
