so i got two jobs at the same time, and figured i would see how it worked out and as it turns out, one job i love a whole lot more then the other. they aren't serious jobs (the one i like it is at a family run grocery store) and the one that isn't working out is at dairy queen and i would keep with both, but i'm a junior in high school and i don't think i can juggle driver's ed, the load of classes i'm taking at school, and two jobs on top of that. my jobs don't know i have two jobs, so i wouldn't mention that while quitting, and i won't be able to give two weeks notice.

could i quit the job i don't like by just not showing up? or could i just call and tell them i don't think i'm going to have the time to work there? i feel bad because they're nice people, i just hate the work and don't have the time.

DO NOT no call no show. You may end up wanting to use them as a reference or run into someone you worked with later in life. When you do that you don't just affect your managers, you are affecting your coworkers. They have their schedules over extended to cover the hours you were supposed to work. Just tell them you cannot handle working and going to school. They should understand, but they won't like the short notice. Try working as much as you can before officially having to stop. You don't want to burn a bridge.

You should always write a letter of resignation. Take it into your supervisor. Thank them for the experience, tell them that your school obligations will require too much of your time for you to provide them with any hours at this time. You should have given them 2 week notice, but give them as much notice as you can. Also place in there your last day to work. Never just leave a job without calling in - it's just bad form. It makes your supervisor think help is scheduled when it is not. Also, doing this burns a bridge, and you never know if you might need this job in the future.

You can quit anytime, but at least call a week before so that they can find replacement in an emergency like that.

What giving your employer a week notice will do to you is, you are going to save yourself some good reputation in the business world. What goes around, comes around they say.

Make it a habit, even when you are truly working a real job out there, don't just AWOL (abesence without leave) and be known to all employers that you are have a high standard personality even though you really hate the job. It's worth it.

Never burn a bridge. Who knows you may have to come back to the job or run into the manager at other job.

Simply walk into the manager's office and tell him that you've overextended yourself with the job and need to quit. Apologize that you can't give 2 weeks notice but you need to focus on school. If he asks that if you've got another job, tell him that you do but you had it first & the schedule is more flexible. At the end of the day, you need to quit one job.

Just tell your boss that it is becoming a problem for yuo to juggle everything right now with school and you are having trouble doing what you need to for school and you can no longer work for them and make sure to apologize when you do it so then you leave on good terms

You don't just not show up! Have some integrity. They are depending on you. Be an adult, and tell them you are leaving. Let them know that you will continue to work for them for up to two weeks, but would like to leave as soon as they are able to cover your schedule.

Don't screw them over by just not showing up. It's not their fault you took on more than you could handle.

And why wouldn't you tell them that you are leaving becuas you took on two jobs and can't handle it? That's the truth.

it's a small world...you don't want to alienate the people at the job you're quitting because you never know when you'll meet them again. be polite and say I'm sorry when you quit Dairy Queen.

Never quit by just not showing up. Tell the boss that you have overextended yourself and cannot keep up with your schoolwork by continuing to work there.

Just tell them the other job pays more and see if they offer you a raise.
