I was informed that I won a large amount by a certain Guiness Prize Notification Department, (from U.K?). A courier supposed to deliver me the winning check wants money for the delivery.

People tell me the reason gas prices are going up is due to lack of refinery capacity. When I watch the news, I've heard oil execs "complain" about how there are so few refineries and more or less say we need to abolish environmental protections and then maybe they'll be consider building more. Isn't that a red herring? I mean, why would they EVER want to build more? They're making tons of money as is. If they built more, supply would increase, price would drop, and so would their profits. Profit is their reason for existence. By that same logic, if they discovered a new oil field, they probably would want to keep it quiet so as to fool people into believing there was a limited supply.

A lady received a settlement check from an insurance company for $4000.00. She went to a check cashing business and cashed the check, since she does not have any kind of a bank account. The insurance company then for some reason placed a stop payment on this check for some reason and re-issued another $4000.00 check to her. This Lady went to another check cashing place and cashed this $4000 again. Now, what is first check cashing business, that insurance place stop payment on first check is going to do? Is the check cashing going to go after the insurance company who issued the check and then place stop payment or will they go after the lady who cashed her check? How do check cashing businesses recover there money? Do they constantly have to file lawsuits against everyone?

I'm not with PETA or any of that, but I interviewed for a technician position at a research institute that does testing on small animals, (I was contacted thru an employment agency and didn't really completely know what the job was until I got there for this interview, I was told it was in animal husbandry and that's about it) rats, mice, rabbits, guinae pigs, cats n dogs. I would just be doing care and observation of the animals, no experiments. But 95 percent of the test animals are terminal, meaning they will die at the end of the study which is usually 3-4 months long.
I just can't bring myself to work there.. the pay is incredible, and paid benefits from day one ... somethin I really need right now, a good job... but I think I care about animals a bit too much to be involved in things like that.
I aced the interview and am pretty sure I would have a job offer if I went back to sign my application. I put it off for one day and need some input.. anyone have any?
