For work I've been asked to research labor/payroll peculiarities that relate to Texas, specifically El Paso and not other states.... I'm not looking for general labor/payroll law... Thanks!

I went on a job interview today and I was quized; if you over spend on the supplies do you debt or credit the account?

I answered but I want to know what you all have to say...

Honestly my friend (controller) and I tend to argue about debits and credits often and well the quiz in a whole ticked me off. I have never been quized in an interview, so I sat there frozen.

I'm more a hands on with my debts and credits... lol

A supplier of ours is calling in the Receiver in 10 days time to wind up a very indebted business. We owe them about £4k. Most of the products we purchased are of a technical electrical/mechanical nature and come with 12 months warranty. They only act as the distributor for a BIG company. The BIG company do not recognise us as an end user and we have no direct line of communication with them. As our supplier (distributor) will be unable to honour the warranty, should we seek a discount and try and cover the warranty ourselves? What is the legal (and moral) position?

The system will cover holiday bookings, personal details and clocking on. This has always been processed by HR staff, but now will be self service.

Our marketing team came up with Reflex, but I think it's a bit 80's!

A good person that had some very bad luck over the last year now with bad credit. I need a personal loan for 9k. I will pay it back using part of my gov't pension. You can decide the way it's paid, can be in a joint account by direct deposit (I will never touch) or some other way. Loan term and interest rate negotiable. Serious reply s only please. This is hard enough without hearing negativity. Thank you in advance for those with real answers.

Royal Mail keeps losing letters I send in the post. It doesn't matter if I send it Recorded Delivery, Special delivery or normal mail they can still lose it. If I try to complain or claim compensation they are obstructive and Postwatch appear powerless to help. Has anyone found a reliable and cost effective alternative for an individual, not a business, to post letters and very small parcels around the UK?

I am looking for some ideas for a corporate event to entertain anywhere between 30 and 80 people with a budget of approximately £1,000 in November later this year.

Any (sensible or silly) ideas?
