Z-Mart purchased $4000 worth of merchandise. Transportation costs were an additional $350. It returened $ 275 worth of merchandise and paid the invoice on time, and earded a 2% discount. The amount of the cheque was:
a.)4075
b.)4000.5
c.)3725
d.)3995
e.)3925

My calculation was:( 4000 + 350 - 275 )- ( 4000 + 350 - 275 )- X 2%= 3993.5

but the answer which i've got doesnt match.....How do I calculate this?

In 2001 a John co-signed for a car for Mary. Mary stopped paying on the car. A few months ago, the finance company took the car back. The finance company is seeking payment for the portion still owed. Mary is now working, but John is disabled. The finance company has called John and demanded the balance owed or they would sue or get the money from his bank account. They know where Mary lives and know where she works, however; they are harassing John. John wants to know that since he is 100% disabled, and is living on a fixed income, and Mary is an RN who is making much more, if they can sue John, take his home and/or get the money from his account, if any. Please respond ASAP

She's a college student from Europe in NYC, the acct is pretty new. According to her there is some $1000 in funds that are frozen b/c of this bounced check deposit .
This just doesn't make sense. it would seem that there would be a fee for the bounced check but not that they would freeze available funds.
Is this even possible? Or is she just makin' up stories?

I am not asking for myself, I am looking for advice to give to my significant other.
He is a General Manager for a restaurant and he is having a hard time getting his management staff to catch on so to say.
They are hard workers, but are not performing up to par. He has tried teaching them and he has tried to get them to learn from their own mistakes.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get their management team to perform better? I have looked this up on the internet but keep getting motivation stuff and that is not the problem.
BTW. Unfortunately, he doesn't pick the management team, the owner does.

I am a good person ( disabled military veteran) that had some very bad luck over the last year and a half that resulted in me having bad credit now. I am working to fix that, but need some help. I am in need of a personal loan for 9k and will pay it back with a portion of a government pension I receive. This payback will be direct deposited into an account for you so never will a payment not be made. Loan term and interest rate are negotiable. Please do not recommend that site with private investors on it I don't qualify on there. Please serious responses only, I am not a bad person and this is hard enough without any derogatory remarks. Thank you in advance for your assistance and direction for those that give me serious help.
