I am thinking about starting my own business, doing freelance secretarial work (typing, transcription, and proofreading), personal services- like shopping and errands, and some other professional services (like putting together presentations for people), etc. Does anyone think that this will go over well?? I really need something to bring in some extra income without stealing all of my free time from my family. Hopefully it will pan out and I can replace my crappy retail job with it. I live in MN, just outside of the twin cities, anyone local want to chime in (and maybe hook me up with a lead or two?)?

Four times since last night, I have requested a new PayPal password change. This is supposed to come through my e-mail account but, even with four attempts, my password confirmation change has not came to my e-mail address. Yes, I filled out all of the required information correctly. It is PayPal that seems to have the problem with the change and varification. I did change the password on the 5th of this month, would that have anything to do with the problem with my PayPal password?

A woman owns a travel agency. She pays $500/mo rent and $100/mo for access to a database used for purchasing tickets at wholesale price (plus $15 per each trip booked). She was just informed that her rent is going up to $900/mo due to increased business in the area. The database company informed her that they were dropping the price to $25/mo + $5 booking fee per trip.

Is the rent a fixed or variable cost?

The other question and please give me a feed back.

I used to have one of my friends give me a hair cut. Today, I really need a hair cut and happened to hang around at Wal-Mart to wait for my truck to be ready at Sears. I asked the girl how much she will charge me to trim my hair. She said $12.50. I thought that was good because I paid my friend more than that, plus I tip her with a cooked dinner every time she gave me a hair cut. I told the girl to not put anything in my hair, just cut it. I shampoo my hair every morning so she does not need to shampoo or anything to my hair. After she trim my hair, she ask me if I want her to blow my hair. I told her yes, just where all the hair falling at. It was all over the top of me. She said wait I want to put something in your hair before I blow it. She put a small amount of form thing in, and I let her blow it about a second. I said that good enough because I don’t like to blow my hair dry. I went at the front to pay, she said $15.50. I said I thought you said $12.50. She said I blow your hair with a hair cut. I still gave her tips and thinking this is not right. I am not a cheaply, but didn’t feel good afterward even $15.50 plus tips for a hair cut is very cheap already.

Do you think this is right? Please give me a feed back.

I the eighties, there were the “Big Eight” accounting firms: Arthur Andersen, Coopers and Lybrand, Deloitte Haskins and Sells, Ernst and Whinney, Peat Marwick Mitchell, Price Waterhouse, Touche Ross, and Arthur Young. Now we’re down to the “Final Four”.

Is there a Group B accounting firm that might jump up to assume a role in the top tier?

I've heard of instances where employees were fired for emailing rumors, negative comments and other inappropriate messages regarding their superiors and employers to other employees. Do most organizations, nowadays, allow superiors to read their subordinates' email messages? What are the legal consequences of the employer if the fired subordinate discovers that his/her superior(s) were reading his/her emails?
