I've got to drive from my house to Derby over the weekend (about 120 miles, I think). The fuel cost is going to be troublesome (even though my car is only 1.1).

I was thinking about putting an ad in the local paper stating that if anyone wants anything that would fit in my car taken to Derby (or somewhere en route) I would do it for them at a cost (say 50p a mile?).

1. Is this a reasonable cost for delivery a few hours after dispatch?

2. Am I breaking any laws?

Thanks!

I am starting my own personal services business, but I really need to know what businesses and individuals need. What is the one thing at work that you wish you/they could hire someone to do- basically to fill a gap. This doesn't have to be generalized, I just need to know what you need!

Most sites that I have found provide the costs of Marketing & Distribution (~11%) when providing transportation costs for gasoline, however I want just the transportation costs.

Assume that you build custom electric motors for customers. You expect your indirect manufacturing cost to total $500,000 for the year and you expect to use 10,000 machine hours. Job 42 requires 200 machine hours, uses $3,000 of direct labor and $5,000 of raw materials. What is the predetermined overhead rate for your firm? What is the total cost assigned to Job 42? Show your calculations. Give me an example of a cost of building electric motors that would be indirect to individual jobs.

Much of the success of Harley is due to people who want to get a piece of the outlaw motorcycle gang image. White collar guys who ride Harleys on weekends, imagining that they are a bad-*** biker. None of this would exist without the Hell's Angels. Harley owes them, big time.

To me they look like the cheap promotional giveaways that service stations handed out along with a "Presidential collector's board" back in the 1960's.

recently I have a family friend who came into some money, they hold a fairly high social status - they have told me of investments they have, and I have been told by them that they can turn small sums of money like 10,000 dollars into hundreds of thousands. Now, I know they aren't lying but what kind of investment could this be, I know it takes place off shore, is it a pyramid scheme?

i brought an item of clothing from ebay which was meant to be brand new however when i recieved it, the item was damaged so i emailed them straight away to tell them and they wanted me to send photos which is understandable but i dont see why i have to spend more money to prove the item is damaged as it cost a lot of money... anyway have not heard from seller for 3 days now and cant complain to ebay as the time limit hasnt been long enough... what should i do...?
