I talked with a good attorney who gave me some good info. but I am going on my own (cheaper). Is an attorney necessary? Should I go provisional first? When should I do the patent search in DC? Should I pitch my idea to companies once I am patent pending? Lots of questions!!!

THANKS!

My idea is that we have seperate businesses run the logistics of warehouse and delivery and sales. Companies should not be allowed to start chains unless they are going to let a small business own and run it like a franchise. Corporations ruin the attitude of American Small Business. They create poor service, overpricing, and underpay their employees. Larger corporations don't take into account the wants and needs of customers local to a certain store, but rather rely on surveys and research. I realize that logistics would be much slower, but there could be a separate company that handles logistics to speed it up.

My only con is that it would slow growth, as people would not be as inclined to run a business.

I work for myself in Mary Kay and it is the end of the Year for us in June, and I have a goal to meet so that I can attend my first Seminar in Texas. I do FREE Facials and Makeovers and SPA parties. In May I kind of dropped off for a little bit because I had some family problems but I have jumped back on this month to make everything count, but it is coming down to the line and I really want to meet my goal. Where are some good places to find ideas and customers. This is one of the best companies that I have ever been a part of and I want to do everything in my part to share it with others. SO does anyone have ideas for my dilema at the end of year. I would so appreciate any help I can get.

When you send a package to someone using UPS or Fed Ex, and you put the individuals address, under what circumstances would that package be forwarded? I sent a package to someone and it got forwarded to a different address? And I did give permission for the package to be left at the door?

My family moved here a year ago. I met a dentist who had a child in my son's class. I made appointments for myself and my 2 children. In the meantime, the dentist contacts my husband (he's a loan officer at a bank) and asks him for a rate quote for a new loan. He later emails my husband back and says "thanks for the offer, but I'm going to stay with my current bank because they are patients." My husband even gave him a better rate! We're just puzzled as to why he would even bother going to my husband if he had no intent of using another bank. My daughter has another appointment next week (our 4th in the last month). I want to let him know I am puzzled, but I want to do it in a way that would not jeopardize any potential business relationship with the dentist. What could I say? "I really hate that my husband wasn't able to help you out with your loan" or "My husband said you talked to him about a loan." I want him to have to explain or at least make him feel bad for jerking us around.

My grandma set up stock accounts for all 10 of her gradkids when we were very young. It was to be used to help finance college and to buy our first house. My step dad told myself and my brother that we lost everything because it was invested in a company that went under. I have recently discovered that was a lie. The money was still in the account 2 years after that and he sold it and used it for something. The accounts were in my name and my brothers, not in his name. So should I hold him accountable and sue him for the money?

I have an idea for a product and have gone to Davidson Inc. with my idea and they have sent me a contract outlining what they will do with my idea. They will research it, find companies who may license it, then put together a portifolio, and let me decide if I want them to create a prototype for actual presentation. The catch is, it's about $700 for the research and portfolio, then potentially up to 15K for creation of a prototype with which to take to companies for them to consider. I think my idea is a good one, I know of nothing like it on the market, and I believe in it's marketability. (esp. compared to some of the crap out there in stores) What I want to know is if any one has experience with this company, and feedback. Does anyone know of the cheapest way to promote an idea or product. I can't make one. I could draw a picture with a written description. I was advised to not get a patent right away, as the product itself may require revision.

They cost more than a penny to make now.
They use up our valuable zinc and copper resources.
It would save lots of time at the cash register to round up or down to the nearest nickel. (I've seen it, in Sydney.)
The only useful purpose I have heard recently for a penny is to measure the wear on your tires. I bet we can come up with a different way to measure that . . .

[And do the basic math, folks - taxes will NOT increase if you round to the nearest nickel, since half gets rounded down, and half up.]
