A home based business is a good stepping stone start with ebay and your own website if you can afford it. I used drop ship companies and I sell on ebay and my own website the people who buy from me never know the difference and drop shipping means you never touch the product you sell what the company offers for the price you want to mark it up to then sell it then pay them and they ship it to your customers with your company name on the label etc .... I guarantee you more than half the users on here have bought from a company the looks like its a big company but really its someone who drop ships from home ...

Find a product that there is a need for. It has to be something that everyone needs but there is not thousands of people already trying to fill it.
Create that product yourself. Sell it on e-bay at first. Once you know you can sell then move to your own web site.
No quick answer to this. It takes work and time...lots of it...but you will reap the rewards over time.
