When you send a package to someone using UPS or Fed Ex, and you put the individuals address, under what circumstances would that package be forwarded? I sent a package to someone and it got forwarded to a different address? And I did give permission for the package to be left at the door?

The reciever can usually request that the package be redirected. For example my wedding dress came through one of those 2 shipping companies (sorry I don't remember which) -- I had requested it be sent to my house, but then called them and asked to have the package redirected to my work address after one attempt was made to deliver at my house.

You should never give permission to leave at the door. And always track your packages. I always go with signature only. The poor delivery guy has way too many packages as it is. FedEx has always been really good.

well, if you check the web-site then you can find out. and alot of packages get delivered to the wrong door. So the people usually give it back and so the package normally will be delivered to the right person.

When you send something expensive always have a signature return... it makes them physically have to sign for it rather than leave it on the door step... I have got a package off the truck on the other side of my city... not cool... For ebay purposes that is the best way... that way you know where it is going and who is getting it...

Perhaps they moved and all mail is being forward to their new address. You may just want to call Fedex or UPS..how about that for starters?
