Are they any good? Did they break anything? Which agent did you move with? Are there prices reasonable? Thanks for the help!

I have used many different van lines including United Van lines. The thing is drivers are almost always independent contractors and you have no control of who is going to be. The way it works with long distance move is the driver will show up either on his own or with a co driver and there will be several helpers from the local agent's office who load the truck. The same thing with the unloading. If you move during the busiest season (summer), you get some part time students or some very strange looking people loading and unloading your furniture. It's the same way with every national moving company. Locally owned companies are better in that sense since they have 100% control of who do the jobs. But, they don't move too far. My suggestion is: get three "not to exceed" quotes and go with the cheapest. Their service is pretty much equal. Expect something to break. If you don't want that, pack the valuables yourself. Get plenty of insurance. If you can avoid July and August, it's better. Good luck.
