Hello

I started learning to trade options a few months ago.
Due to an overwhelming schedule, I'm still on my first few paper trades.

I know the basics about how things work,
I use basic methods of trend analysis (Elliot wave, moving averages) and I know in theory how to implement most strategies.

What kind of returns can most people expect their first year of trading?

And what place do some of the more advanced strategies (Iron butterflies, etc) have? I was told that most of the time the simple spreads and basic calls / puts bring in the most.

What stops oil producing nations from creating proxy companies and purchasing oil contracts from themselves? Meaning, does the CFTC have a verification mechanism to guarantee that contract volume matches physical output? Also, is there any history of someone trying a similar mechanism like this on other commodities?

wonderful, worthless brokers won't help. I've looked at companies such as American Stock & Transfer Verso,IDH, INsty-Prints,Verilink, Allegra Networks...but none seem to be able to help. Has anyone had this stock pop up on there holdings list as of recent? I don't recall every owning this company or a parent or merging company... Any idea how I acquired this. Supposdedly the company is bankrupt but still has OTC shares? how is that possible?

Earlier this year, there was a link on Yahoo Finance to a James Glassman column (it may have been in the on-line version of Fortune magazine, I can't remember) where he had a list of stocks that looked promising for growth in 2007. I am trying to access the column again and can't find it. Does anyone know if it is still available, and if so, how I get it?

Michael Jackson, the new CFO of Cool-Dance is considering increasing the company’s
growth rate by entering a new line of business. Currently, Cool-Dance has a current
dividend of $4.5 per share and its dividend is expected to grow at a constant rate of 5%.
The company’s required rate of return is 15%. Michael Jackson has estimated that if
Cool-Dance enters this new line of business the growth rate in dividends and earnings
will increase to a constant rate of 9% per year, but the required rate of return also
increases to 20%. Should Michael Jackson enter this new line of business?
