The mark of a pro is that he will beat an amateur in a series of bets in the area of expertise. Financial experts should beat the market, which is composed of partly amatuers like me, and partly of pros.

It occurs to me to offer a sum of money to a pro for management on these terms. Invest it NYSE & NASDAQ listed securities. Each day, if the value has gone up, the pro gets 50% (yes, 50%) of the profit, and the value is re-baselined for the next day. If the value value goes down, the pro contributes his own capital to make up the loss, bringing the value to what it was at the start of the day.

Are there any pros confident enough in their ability that they can make money on those terms?

I bought a stock that I later learned was being split in a day or two after I bought it, I called the company about it and was told that even though I didnt own it on the date of record, I would still recieve the split,Tonight I went deeper into the Q&A area of their web sight where it explined that if I did'nt own the stock on the day of record, I would NOT get additional stocks, So my question is, does my investment drop in half tomorrow morning at opening?

How can I tell if my mutual funds are performing satisfactorily?

In Sept. 2006 I opened the following 2 mutual funds, thru a broker, with a $500 investment in each, and have been auto-depositing $50 per month every month since then.
When I look at my mutual fund statement online at www.americanfunds.com, then logging into my account (by looking at the income dividends and captial gains that have posted to my account) it looks as though it is only making about 3 % Should I contact my broker and ask questions? Or is there a website to help me interpret the mutual fund info?

you think its good to have their branch in the Philippines? Is that worth competing to other telecommunication company like PLDT, Globelines, Smart, Bayantel, Etc. Because i was thinking to invest my money to that business together with my friends. If anyone knows the consequence i am facing, please help me. i dont want to burn my money on it.
