I'm a student in college and want to get into the world of investing. I hear people talk about putting $1 in an account and a hundred years later, it is compounded into a large amount for the future generation of the family.

I do not have a lot of savings as I'm only a student, what are some tips/ strategies you expert would suggest is best for a college student to take or start with?

On 10/24/1994, my Dad purchased 6,048 shares of U.S. Flywheel Systems, Inc. He forgot about it and recently asked for my help. Since then, I believe all the U.S. Flywheel Systems shares have been swapped around and split a couple times. I think he may now have shares of Bio Progress PLC. But I'm not sure, and don't know who to ask. Does somebody know how many shares he has and of what company? Or does somebody know an easy way for me to figure this out? Thank you!

What factors have played in the decline of the recent market swoon and subsequent recovery at least so far? Why did the Federal Reserve, recently leave rates unchanged and were there any of the CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model) components at 'work' here, and if so, how were they changed.

I have my retirement account with Fidelity, invested in various funds. What would happen to my money if the corporation Fidelity were to go under? Would I be able to recover my money? I don't think the particular funds are FDIC insured.

Is this a reasonable concern? After what happened with Enron, it'd be nice to know if there was a safeguard in place.
