Example:

Assume that the Fed has made an unofficial announcement that it will raise interest rates and the Fed is going to formally announce this tomorrow. Because Bernake hasn't formally announced the rate hike, but everyone knows it's going to happen, does the market react to the news after the informal or formal announcement?

Same can be said regarding unemployment figures, earnings reports or contract awards.

So...does the market react only after the formal announcement? If so, it seems a good opportunity for speculators to make some money.

I have managed to get my original perpetual motion device to turn by itself for one year at 3000rpm. Because it was consructed with cardboard and double-sided tape, it fell apart. The new prototype should turn at around 300 000 rpm. but because I have self funded it till now, I have run out of capital. If there is anyone out there who willbe able to assist me, I would be most thankfull.

Not just the usual flamers, but questions, criticism and problems with the functioning of the new format. As well as net addresses of competing services. Also, today, a reporter was attempting to get comments from users and that message was deleted within ten minutes. what's this all about?

Most experts say there's an 80% chance the Fed will not raise rates tmrw. I believe the Alaska oil problem today will force the fed to raise one more time. I hope I'm wrong.

I am from Corporate Finance and I would want to understand which metrics buy-side investors use in order to choose a stock they would want to invest in? Do investors value companies by using DCF or market multiples? How much discount (in percentage) do investors require to say that a stock is undervalued?

I want to get into investing and have no experience. Are there any books/websites you can recommend? I'm only planning on investing a relatively small amount of money about £5k but want to do my homework first.

I have an excellent inventiton Idea, however, no money to start it up, I believe every household that has more than one level will want one! I am looking for engineers, lawyers, graphic artists that are willing to do the design on the computer (like toy story pixar) and engineer to show how it would work and attorney who would do all of these services and be paid when the product sells. Im not sure how to go about it legally, but make sure those who participated upfront with no money got compensated well once the product took off. Basically trade services for the idea. I have already proposed my idea to an invention company and they say it would definately be a great seller, but they need all these upfront fees for all the services needed to get it off the ground. If you have any expertise and would like to help out , I would gladly chat with you. I am a mother of three and honest, looking for honesty and profession in return.
Thanks,
STeph
