I want to buy a 4 to 6 unit building & also live there. I know I would have to buy a builing that needs to be refurbished. I know lots of people who are able (& willing) to help fix it up, but no one is able to be an "angel investor". My job now, I get building permits for my company, so I even know who to talk to, to get the paperwork through faster! I am just trying to find a way to raise funds to get my dream started. My credit is ok (upper 600's). It's that way because I have almost NO credit (just got most bad stuff off after being a victim of identy theft). I still am unable to get a credit card (unless I pay extra $$ every year).

Any suggestions on how to start? I am in Orlando now, can move towards OH, PA, or NY. Thanks.

My broker keeps talking up bond funds. But I still can't see what they have to offer over buying a few CDs with different maturities. When I look at the return for bond funds they all look pretty bad. Thoughts?

I bought my house 8 months ago and I think I might have paid to much. I was foolish and didn't make a wise decision. I bought a house during the housing boom and now that we're heading for a slow down or recession I doubt I will ever make my money back. I paid $180,000 for a 800 Sq foot home with no yard or garage. People warned me but I didn't listen. And I just found out my basement leaks and needs $20,000 in repair. Maybe I should just walk away and let Canadian Housing and Mortgage Corporation pay off my mortgage. At this point there is no way I can make my money back. It turns out that I am not alone.

These sub-penny, penny stocks get to some vanishingly small share prices. When does the exchange or the market makers give it up and halt trading. Who finally pulls the plug?
