My normal health care requires me to be a full time employee working 40 hours a week. I had a seizure on the job, and can no longer drive a forklift. I have tried to return doing other duties, but they have said they have nothing for me. They placed me on short term disability, and are sending me a cobra package while cancelling my regular health insurance because I'm currently working 40 hours a week. I have worked there 17 years. While on Short Term disability should my regular medical insurance be covered? If it is, where can I find something to prove this to my company in black and white? I'm an Illiniois state resident.

Why do I need busines insurance if I only trade at home through the internet (selling my own custom built software programs)? And what business insurance would I need to do this?
Also does anyone have any links - where I can get a quote on this sort of trading?

2 doctors have recommended I have a medical procedure, and after and exhaustive amount of faxing and conferences, the insurance company rejected it again. I was told I have to go through the normal appeal procedure, but no one can tell me what that is. Can anyone help?

I had an inpatient laparoscopic nissen fundoplication January 5th, with one day hospital stay. Prior to the decision to have surgery, I had motility studies done and an endoscopic exam. The motility study showed that I had low pressure, the endoscopic exam showed that I had esphagitis. Anyway, the doctor that did the motility study and the surgeon decided that I should get a lap nissen fundop. After I met with the surgeon he set up the time. Well, anyway, I got this letter from my insurance company stating that the hospital never obtained prior authorization before the surgery per their contract, and that I may not be responsible for the bill. They denied the insurance claim and said that the hospital can appeal. However, they wouldn't have paid it anyway, because the surgery could have been performed as an outpatient surgery. (They did however pay for the surgery itself, they just refused to pay the hospital stay) Do I owe the $16,000 + hospital bill?

I was looking for life insurance just in case. I found a company that will give me $2 million at $37 a month. So while I know the basics on how it works. If $37 a month for say 30 years doesn't come close to $2million yet if or when I die my beneficarary should get like $2 million dollars. So how is it that the insurance companies make repeated profits. I know they have other things like auto, renters, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, even kidnapping, as well as home, flood, fire, & other policies that help offset life insurance policies still it seems hard to believe how they make money let alone time & time again & often large amounts. It seems like they either do well or not & again obviously those based on nature mostly but still my question is how do they actually make their money?

My wife's father passed away in 1970-two months ago my mother in law was going through her paperwork and found this policy that was never paid, bought by my wife's Dad. We sent it and explained that the policy was over looked. They in turn sent it to their main offices in Dallas. They showed no record of it. What can we do? We have the policy in hand. Thanks.

I've got a bit of a problem with my shower at the moment - there is wooden panelling around the base of the shower which is getting damp probably due to a leak from the base. I've called a plumber out to take an initial look, apparently there's a strong possibility I'll need to get a completely new cubicle and tray installed, new tiling done & also to get the floorboards underneath treated. The plumber told me I may be able to claim some of this through my home insurance.
This is my first home & I've never had a big problem like this before - how do I go about seeing whether my insurance would pay out? And are there implications for my future monthly premium?
Thanks

My moms signed up for an employer based insurance which included Aetna as the insurance provider. She signed up for it to start 1/1/2007 and has not received insurance card till this date 3/28/07. We have called up numerous times to request a card and have not sent to us. They promised to send on numerous occassions but never recieved. The last time we called we spoke to a supervisor/manager and she said we would send it overnight after complaining that we are very upset, but it didn't come overnight. They say snail mail takes 2-3 weeks to recieve. A company as big as Aetna should not be this cheap and slow. They said they didn't have records of previous communication based on the computer. We told her we can send a copy of phone bill showing dates we called and requesting insurance card. She said that was not neccesary. Her doctor will not accept her without have insurance card. What can we do? We are sick of the poor service Aetna have provided.
