Good luck. I've been fighting with Fed Ex since 9-11.....they completely destroyed my package (happens when they drive a fork lift thru the box 3 times) and refuse to pay for it, even after I've given them every piece of documentation they asked for.

Did they lose the package? or did they leave it on the doorstep and it's gone? If they left it because signature was not required, then you are out of luck. If they lost it, then stay on them. Send a certified letter, stating the facts and requesting reimbursment through the insurance.
Any time you send a package that you are insuring, make sure you also require a signature so the courier can not just leave the package at the door. Once it is out of the couriers' hands, it is no longer their responsibility.

get a small claims court form filled out photo copy it and send the photo copy with a letter to them, stating that unless you receive your money you will be filing it in ten days, then point out that if after the court has made an order for them to pay they still don't you can and will get their bank account frozen until you have been paid that money plus compensation.

You can use the Small Claims court, and also Trading Standards.

You'll have to bring him to court. The insurance was HIS insurance, not yours. And likely, it doesn't cover mysterious disappearance.

Sue him. There is not enough in your question to understand what your question is.
