If a minor were to pass away, would the minor need life insurance in order for the funeral and other such arrangements to be taken care of? Would there be another method that these such needs would be able to be taken care of without life insurance?

How do I obtain my deceased Mother's SS#? I recently found on one of those treasure hunt searches that she had an insurance policy (small $ amount) and I need her number to get the cash from the insurance company. No old papers exist other than a few treasured birthday cards she sent me.

Want to keep medical open but have heard that they will always say it is a new injury and workmans comp. won't pay it anyway. We will get a cash settlement too, but going this route takes a lot longer than just taking a cash settlement only. Have tried to get information from lawyers and doctors and they don't give much advise. Has anyone gone throught this before and can say what is the best way to go?

Do you think that if a person purchases Travel Insurance and another doesn't should they get the same treatment as far as cancel penalties are concerned?

All vendors have cancel/interuption penalties. They just vary depending on the company on how strict they are. Years ago companies tended to be more lienient and feel for one who say had to cancel due to a car accident prior or had to come home early for a funeral for example. However now most of them now aren't feeling sympathetic at least when it comes towards money back. There were to many complaints of "Hey I bought Insurance for X amount, why do they get the same treatment and didn't spend that additional money for Insurance?

I have to agree. If I spent $200.00 bucks(for example)on Insurance and someone else didn't at all, but yet they were fully remebursed I would be upset! How about you?

Question is prompted because of a client of mine who had to come home early due to her Mothers death.

Hello,
My question is, does anyone know how insurance companies decide if an area has a high crime rate? Do they just go by recorded crimes that have had claims through insurance or any recorded crimes regardless?

I have been interested in getting home insurance as my parents don't have it for our house and I have quite a few expensive things I would like to ensure. When I tried getting quotes from some of the big home insurance company websites, the quotes were very high (double the amount my friend got) - He lives near Kings Lynn in a Town, I live near to Stansted Airport in a quiet village with a population of around 250. The crime in the area is non existant. The only thing I can think of that could be causing the higher quote is there is an old lady who lives in a bungalow on the same post code as us who has been burgled 3 times no less whilst she has been in the house. THis has been the only crime in the area for years and years, I am pretty sure she does not have insurance

I have tried to get a new policy, but most companies won't even give me an estimate. I have tried twice to get policies from companies that gave me an estimate but both companies didn't accept the payment. We are in Wisconsin and have never had an insurance claim in more than 20 years, so I don't think it depends on hurricane Katrina. I have been told that if I was a new owner I wouldn't have any problems, but we have had our house since 1945. Could I sell it to my husband? We have good credit and my father simply forgot to send the check (he was 92).

my father just died two days ago, however I need to bury him and I have no idea about how to do it, where to get started etc. I am his only child and he mentioned years ago that he had life insurance however since then his life has gone downhill and I don't know how to go about knowing if he has life insurance or not. If I can't not find it are there any charities to assist me on this? I don't know what to do and this is all very stressful. Please anyone help!

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I have lost a piece of expensive jewellery that was handed to me around a year ago. I am wondering if I can claim for this on my house insurance ? it's never going to replace this jewllrey as it belonged to my late father, but my mum thinks that I should claim on the insurance.

does anyone know if this is something that I could do? do you think the insurance company will pay out on this. I don't know the value of this but I'm sure I can find something of the same value I guess.
