Ok... Stupid me, trying to be nice and help my younger brother out... I did a "what if" quote with my insurance company and since he lives in the same house, they automatically put him on my policy, and i'm gonna be raped as far as rates. I told them to remove him or I'll drop them. They refused, so Im shopping around.

If I leave this dump of a company, and go with another company, is there any way for this new company to find out from my old company that I have a brother in the house? Is there any way for this new company to find out (aside from me telling them- WHICH AINT GONNA HAPPEN)?
This time Im keeping my mouth shut... I learned the hard way.

My old insurance cancelled me a few months ago and I just found out. I have a new job with new insurance that starts in May, but I also just found out I am pregnant. I was going to be getting the insurance anyway, since I have a family that needs insurance. Will my new insurance cover my pregnancy or will it fall under the pre-existing condition clause?

What would be a ball park figure in a civil claim where the defendant has admitted fault and there is permanent, irrreversible physical damage to the victim that prohibits him from using his body to work ever again? Not to mention having already had 3 major surgeries and expecting at least 2 more to put in pins, screws, and plates in knees, ankle, legs, and spinal coloumn? The defendant is a company, not an individual.

My wife started a new job as a schoolteacher last August. She visited the doctor a few months after that to address a blood pressure concern. Now the insurance company is refusing to pay for that visit, because the company's policy is not to pay for preexisting conditions until the person has been employed for 6 months, and at the time of the visit, it had only been 5.5 months. Is this right? What recourse do we have? Thanks!

I had a routine annual exam and pap in January, but when I got the bill, found out that they did an HPV test along with it. I did not authorize this test. As such, my insurance company covered the charges differently. Normally, a routine exam and pap would be totally covered with a $20 copay. I called and the office told me it was a mistake and would fixed. I then recieved a revised bill, the portion of the HPV test that insurance didn't cover was removed, but there were still charges on it. I called again today ro have them re-bill the insurance company for only the services I went in for, but I was given the runaround. The person was really rude to me, saying she didn't think they could re-bill because the ins co had already paid. I told her, duh, issue a credit to the ins co and then re-bill. The charge now is small, but I don't think I should pay because I didn't authorize the HPV test to begin with. Nor have I gotten any results to prove the test was actually done. Help

Right now I'm paying between $300-$400 in monthly prescriptions without insurance. But I'll only be needing these prescriptions for less than a year. My dad is paying for my doctor visits, also without insurance, and I'm sure it's denting his wallet. I need to visit my doctor once a month or so until my problem is fixed. I basically want short term insurance, but what's the benefits? What kind of company should I go for? I searched online for sure clues but I just get confused. I'm wary of actually going and talking to somebody because there are a lot of people out there waiting to take advantage of an 18 year old female that's looking to spend money. Help!! I have no clue!!

Honestly, What is the point to an insurance company? They rape you of your money and god forbit you have that one accident, and go to make a claim, you most likely have to fight with them and if you get your way, more than likely they rape ya even more of your money. You pay alot for this crap, and when you need to use it, you should be able to get the money without putting up a fight or being raped more afterwards. It seems like a joke. Criminal is more like it. Rape us of our money then make us fight to use it. I can have a savings account and put all that money into it and get it without a fight. I hate insurance... and honestly if i ever got into an accident... i wouldn't tell them...Id just get raped of more $ most likely. There should be one rate across the board based on age, experience, vehicle, etc... not this $5000 from progressive then $1000 from geico. That is bull! But this is a screwed up world anyways.

I'm a healthy 22-year old male and I live with my Dad. Even though we've always gotten by our whole lives, we never have been able to save any money. If something ever happened to me, my Dad would not be able to afford paying off my bills and paying for my funeral. I want to get life insurance but I'm an absolute novice about it. For example, do I go with whole or term life, would the insurance be taken out on myself or on my Dad, how would I make sure that all the insurance money went to him? Thanks for the anticipated help!

My wife is pregnant and going to deliver March 30th. She was fired from her job on the 1st and got to keep her coverage thru the 31st. Since we will be in the hospital for 4 days but wont get out until the 2nd of April, does the insurance company have to pay for those 2 days when coverage really lapsed? Since we're going in before coverage has stopped are they responsible?

Thanks to all those who have answered my questions about insurance so far...
I had a commercial building that was severely damaged in a fire, the adjuster made his inspection and his estimate is pending. Am I required to accept his offer, or can I get a separate estimate from a contractor and present this to the insurance company for payment?
Under what circumstances would I have no choice? From the looks of it, the adjuster will be offering me nearly $65K less than what a contractor quoted me.
Is the insurance payout negotiable, or is the adjuster the "end-all-and-be-all final determination?
