I am a Junior in college working towards a Bachelor's degree in Biology and I've decided I want to work for a Biotechnology company.

Does anyone know of any such companies that hire for co-ops and/or internships? I know Genzyme does. And they have a branch where I live but I don't know if that specific branch hires for co-ops and internships, so I'd like to know about more companies.

I have been looking for a better paying job for the last few months. I get the interviews but I never get the job. I have my Associate's Degree and am going back to school to get my Bachelor's. (I can't go back yet because I have no money!) I know all the computer applications. I know how to be a secretary. Answering phones, I have done many times. Yet, still nothing. Is it all about the connections? Is it all about how someone looks?

I always get stuck at these really deadend retail positions. The ones where the managers are my age (22). Is this just because the demand for people with Bachelor's Degrees and even Master's Degrees?

I really don't understand what they mean by running my buisness at home. I don't have a buisness. I'm a server for crying out loud! Can somebody please tell me how these really works and if its really worth it so I can try it out. I don't want to hear fake testimonies.

I got offered a great job in DC almost 3 weeks ago because I did not want to move (no relocation was provided). The more I think about it, I think I made a mistake. I went online to the company website, and as of July 23, it looks like the position is still open. I was thinking I would call or e-mail the HR person I met with, or the hiring manager to see if it was in fact still open, and if I could get another chance if I explain why I turned it down in the first place...

what would you do? Is this a bad idea? Any suggestions on what I should do if the job is, in fact, still open?

Bosses, how do you handle it when one of your employees questions your work ethic.

Frankly this employee doesn't know what she's talking about. I have been on the clock seven straight days and am more than willing to work extra hours when necessary.

Hey guys...I'm kinda scared because I got hired at a clothing retail store about a month ago...showed up to each day on time and did my work....but lately some stressful stuff has taken place (with girls--I'm 17 years old), and I guess it got to me. I was scheduled Saturday (yesterday) at 8 AM to 2 PM. I thought that I was scheduled for TODAY at 8 AM, so yesterday I didn't show up, and when I woke up today and went there, the manager was like..."Are you scheduled today?" And I was like, "Yep, 8 to 2". She then proceeds to tell me that it was yesterday and that it's OK that I didn't show up, just next time make sure to get the schedule right....but I'm still sort of scared. I'm the youngest person that works there, and I don't really need to jeopardize my position. I really don't know what the heck happened.....some words of comfort?

I just finished my first year in the audit practice at a Big Four firm. This sounds nerdy, but I absolutely love it! Despite the long hours and the horror stories that everyone had told me, I have been pleasantly surprised and genuinely enjoy my clients, the fast-pace environment, the different industries, working in teams, and the technical accounting issues. There are definitely some less exciting parts of the job, but I feel that the benefits significantly outweigh those things. I don't know if I want to go the partner route, but I am really looking forward to being an audit senior in a couple of years. However, I have found that it is tough to differentiate yourself at a Big Four firm because almost everyone here is highly motivated and an overachiever. That said, I was curious if anyone with experience out there had any advice for someone who is relatively new to the public accounting industry. What can a second-year auditor do to stand out?

I am a pretty good ad-libber and am outgoing, but I'd still like to know what to expect. I already have what I'm wearing picked out--a navy Abercrombie & Fitch polo shirt and navy and yellow madras shorts from Abercrombie & Fitch, and I already got my hair cut nice and neat, but still I'm nervous--PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I'm trying to get my first job(i'm 16). But I never know what I'm suppose to put in the Skills & Qualifications box. I mean what skills do I need to present to them to be a cashier/stock boy? What did you guys put in them?

I don't really have any skills per say. I get a 4.0 in school, I take calculus, I'm a hardworker, and love talking to people, active(use to play soccer for the school), good with computers. I don't know anything else. How would I word all that to make a standout from the rest of the kids who apply?

If someone could give me an actual example of how I would write it that would be great. Like what you would put down, not the thoughts but the actual way you would do it.
