To a point. I won't stay at any job that doesn't appreciate me, and if they appreciate me, they'll pay me as much as they can. If the company's in tight $$ situation, well, I don't mind having a skinny paycheck for a while. Hanging on to a job with a low salary hoping for better to come is not unthinkable to me. But if it's a job I really love, I'll work for what they can pay me.

For me, Job satisfaction if I am only supplying for myself. If a family, children, parents, come into play that need my care, I'd easily sacrifice my job satisfaction for familial reasons.

Depends on the person. Personally, I'd rather do something I enjoyed that paid the bills, than something I hated but paid well. i have a friend who's the opposite, hates his work but does it because he earns a small fortune.
It's a personal decision, you have to answer it for yourself.
