I have 6, but only use too, I was wondering, should I close the other 4. I mean I don't use them, they just sit in drawer, there not even in my wallet.

I basically got them to see what they would give me. when I was leaving off for college. So now I'm wondering should I closed those accounts. I don't think I even activacted 1 or 2 of them.

without all the gory details, my wife's brother borrowed about 800 dollars from me, asked for me to sign the lease for his house and then moved out and disappeared. I realize I was an idiot.

I recently received a letter from the Ohio courts saying that he is declaring bankruptcy and listing my name as one of the people he owes money too. What is going to happen? The thing that baffles me is that there is almost no paper trail from the money I owe him so it doesn't make sense that he would list my name, right? I don't know anything about this stuff, I pay my debts and am conservative with my money and have NEVER had to deal with this.

Basically, what does this mean to me? Nothing, right?

With the holidays coming up, and people needing to go to family's houses for parties, and dinners. Me and my friend have thought of starting a small shoveling business for a few days to make some cash.

We're both 14, and 15 both we strong builds. He's tall if that gives a good impression. My question is, will people accept shovelling from us? And what a good way to charge? I was thinking charging a flat fee with $8 Canadian per hour. Please note in Canada we have heavy precipitation here (snow).

So is a flat fee + $8/hr good? Would we turned down by it? Or should we just charge per hour? Will people even accept us?

-I was also thinking about charging an extra dollar for salting, and an extra 2 dollars for scrapping ice off their cars.

What's a good flat fee?

Thanks everyone!

I'm curious about what things I claim to get more money back next year. Every year I end up owning money, even the years I was in college & barely working!.

I completed college last year, so I am stuck in a financial rut with student loans. My interest is very high, so almost half of my monthly income goes towards paying off my student loans - Is there any way I can use that info to get a bigger return?

I now work full-time in my field, and I spend $2,556 a year ($213 a month) commuting to work. Can I claim that?

I'm just curious. I know we all have to pay taxes, but there are loopholes in every law, and I want to find them.

I just want to know other companies or TYPES OF COMPANIES (i.e. restaurants, banks, Construction) that i can apply with for a job as an aerospace engineer.

Yes i know my example make no sense as to a company that needs an aerospace engineer, it's just there to show what i mean by TYPE.

I was just wondering, alot of people just coming out of college have huge amount of debt and arent ready to start contributing to a IRA or a retirement plan but we have huge amounts of debt, is there a way we can divert money into a plan to help us pay off our debt faster that is tax free? similar to the way you can divert money into a tax free investment/retirement?

1970, Nixon shut down the Bretton Woods System, making gold soar dramically from less than $40 to more than $600 per ounce in less than 1 year. As of now, gold can be purchased from $700-$800 per ounce.

I know things change and prices are always increasing, but never at such an extrememly high rate as what I just stated above. In comparison to silver, it can be purchased at around $13-14 per ounce.

Since it is a loan and we pay interest on it I figured it would not create a tax problem, but as the end of the year approaches I'm getting nervous. Am I right it is not considered income? I understand the interest it earns IS taxable. The amount is $60,000. Thanks!

[Please answer this question only if you are a mortgage professional, an MBA, a real estate professional, or someone in a similar profession who is very familar with mortgages]

I'm currently an assistant to a mortgage broker and I was very lucky to have worked with one of the ethical mortgage brokers though I will admit that sometimes he over stated some asset figures. I'm not too happy about that--but he would give his clients the best mortgage terms on the cheapest basis. i.e. he didn't charge them points when he didn't need to.

However, I'm hearing that the mortgage broker industry may end next year due to the alledged plans of several large banks like BofA (already did it), WAMU, Wachovia, Citi, Indy Mac, Wells, and so on. I've also noticed that these major banks are starting to expand their retail divisions thus making me believe that pretty soon we are aheaded towards a direction where mortgage brokers will become no more.

Does anyone else out there believe this to be so?
