Assuming you can withdraw early from an IRA account.

Right now I have a 401K and I might need to take an emergency withdrawal in the next couple of months. I know there is a penalty. Would it be better to roll over to a roth ira right now and withdraw in a couple of months? What kind of penalties am I looking at?

Sorry I did not make my question clear yesterday.
example:
Price $49,414.72; Face value $50,000: duration 3 months:

The answer is: bond equivalent yield is 5.02% but how is it calculated? Even my financial advisor can only plug it into a computer program.

I got an apartment a year ago and chose it over others I saw b/c if was over a store. As soon as I moved in the store closed and a restaurant recently opened up. My apartment reeks of fried foods all the time now that it makes me feel sick to my stomach.
Can I legally ask for a rent reduction due to this?

My husband and I sold our primary home this year, but still own another house in a different state. We are now renting in the city of our primary home, but would like our second home to be considered our primary for capital gains reasons. I spend at least 50 % of my time at our second (now only) home. What do we need to do to make our 2nd home our primary?

Ok, my (ex) husband and I got divorced in 2001 and according to our divorce papers he gets to claim her for even years IF his child support is current at the end of the year. Well, I'm waiting for documentation from the Prosecutor's office (he lost his job at one point, but made additional payments), but I think he may have actually caught it up! I was on TurboTax trying to get an estimate of what my federal tax return would be without claiming her as an exemption and it wouldn't give me the child tax credit for her. I could've sworn that the custodial parent (she lives with me all 12 months) still got the child tax credit and EIC even if they weren't able to claim them as dependents.

OK, suppose you worked for a major corporation. Suppose you had a good friend (in-law actually) who worked in another company that was a major customer.

Suppose you are working on a major product line that your in-law's company is purchasing, and your in-law is in charge of the account, and it is a multi-million dollar transaction.

Suppose you find out that the product line is being discontinued immediately, and you were told that this info was absolutely confidential until an announcement which is to be a few days later.

Suppose an hour later your in-law then phones for more info on the order. What do you say?

Our home state of record through the military was and still is "Missouri". We bought a house in Virginia (where we are stationed now) in June. Do we have to file for both states a return?

I've gotten in over my head. Some of the debt is my fault but I was recently hurt in a seriously bad accident and now I'm in BIG debt. The helicoptor ride alone was almost $12,000. I'm suing the kid who hit me but until I win in court, which could take up to two years, I have to pay for everything. I'm about ready to lose my house. I feel like such a failure. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children. If anyone knows of a program that would help me with my debt or something like that please let me know. Just in case you're wondering no I didn't have insurance. We couldn't afford to. Thank you for reading my question.

I plan to break my lease regardless of the consequences. What should I expect to deal with as a result? Is there a 'good' way to go about this?

I am interested in seeing the mission statements for several non-profit organizations, e.g., National Geographic, which do not necessarily post them online. Generally, I would like to know what information is available for ALL 501(c) non-profits online, and if there is a single resource to find it. THANKS!

Hi
My wholesale supplier has asked me to provide them with an intra-Community VAT number:
This is the individual VAT number given to all taxable persons in the European Community.
I am not VAT registered and am a sole trader.
I am a higher rate taxpayer.
How do I get such a VAT number without formally registering for VAT?
Thanks
Trudy

The General Contractor I hired to finish out my store did not come close to meeting his assurances of when the job would be completed, which resulted in my store still not being open., which has caused me very serious financial problems.

After I accepted the terms of the proposed lease through e-mail, and sending in my Letter of Intent, the Landlord's agent sent me an e-mail. In this e-mail he provided me the names and phone numbers of 2 General Contractors whom he said "I need to talk to." He then said to meet with both, but as the Landlord's Agent, he can't recommend any contractor, so to meet with others, as well.

I did hire one of the 2 General Contractors that my Landlord's Agent specifically told me that I should meet with. As I stated above, this General Contractor was the direct cause for my store being nowhere even near ready when it was supposed to be, per his assurance.

My question is this... does my Landlord have any responsibility for the situation I'm now in?

Hi,
I got married in 2005.
I got a tax refund based on only 1 exemption for 2005(myself).
Later,I found out that I could have claimed my wife as another dependant(She is not employed) and gotten more money back.
So my question is can I claim last years exemption with this year's tax return or is it too late.

Thank you in advance

Srini
