A friend and I had a joint bank account reporting under my SSN. However, I did not contribute any funds to the account. He wanted to put me on the account to avoid going over the FDIC insurance limit at his bank. Is it considered a taxable gift to me under IRS rules?

I have a box that the item comes from the distrubtor and i am wanting to ship in via usps. I have never recieved an item from usps that wasnt shipped in a brown box or wrapped in brown paper. Can i just put the label on the box even if the box has a picture of the product and words on it? thanks.

For the past 5 years I have not done much to to look for or obtain a more suitable career/job. I got stuck working as a bench research scientist just after graduating in 2000, I ended up not doing the best job due to depression, but nonetheless I have some supportive references and marketable skills out of it all. Since 2003, I've been a serial "temp" worker at local universities doing admin jobs of various sorts. I feel stuck. I don't quite know how to get moving again, especially in terms of marketing myself to new employers given my great no. of temp jobs, my lackluster performance in research, and given the fact that over the past 12 years I have had to recover from cancer, divorce, death of a sister, depression, and secondary illnesses from the cancer. Obviously, I don't want to share this in the work place, yet the implications are still very real....though I have recovered a great deal, I am still working towards being fully functional in my life. Please advise...Thanks!

I love culinary and I would love to learn how to cook different things and to know how to do pastry and things like that. I love to cook and I love to bake, but on the other hand I love messing with computers and the money isn't bad either.But should I do both or will it be a waste?How is culinary really like and the hours they work? What about computer maintenance? I don't know if culinary is something I just want to know how to do? Any advice will help

Let's say, I posted my resume on a job search website. One day someone gives me an email says, "Hey, I'm interested in you and would like to talking to you!!"... How can I find out whether this is a real offer or not?? If I can't find any information about this company on the Internet or anywhere, should I not trust this person? I am looking for a decent paying job that I can work night/evenings on. I'm not looking to be a gas station cashier or anything like that. I would like an actual career. I have an AA degree. What are my options? I know hospital jobs can be good, but I don't have the proper schooling.

I just turned 21..isn't this the age that I can take money out of my trust fund? My parents don't give me a straight answer..they want me to be humble and budget the little money I have. But I'm not gonna blow the money. Isn't 21 the age where the money comes available to me??
