I bought a computer for my sole proprietorship in 2003 for $1000. I sold it in 2006 for $300.

When I do my 2006 taxes, do I include the $300 as revenue and does it count as income?

I'm being paid partially under the table to keep my reduced rent low enough. My boss can't do this anymore but said she is willing to lie to them about my pay increase.

What is the best and highest paying job to have in America? And by highest paying, I mean for the best of its time, I don't mean I want to work 23 hours a day to be paid a lot. I'd want to work a normal schedule but earn a lot of money.

I was told in the consultation that my insurance can only cover 80% of my removal of my 4 wisdoms teeth. It will be $1,500 to remove my wisdoms and the insurance can only cover $1,200 according to them, the surgeon. And the rest $300 i have to pay.
I wanted to know if this is true with other surgeons if i was to go to other places.
Insurance doesnt cover the whole %100??
Is this true??

I was wondering if there is a level of income below which someone does not have to pay Social Security. I know you pay up to $97k, but do you have to pay all the way from $0-$97k? or from $x-$97k?

I operate a sole proprietorship. Can I deduct the interest I pay on my business credit card? Where would that amount go on Schedule C? This is for an office supply company credit card.

So my mom is starting a child care business and I was telling her how you could find any answer in the workld on answers.yahoo and so she asked this question plus another and neither of them were answered. lol. So anyways, does anyone know how much the average child care worker makes in a year...or just hourly wage. (like 9-5, w/e) also what a director would make (makes big decisions, almost like the owner's partner) Specifically, we are wondering the salaries of these positions in Canada....Nova Scotia even more particularly. Thanks!

Other questions concerning this have dealt with how music is used in retail stores for various reasons. I have question that is slightly different though.

Companies are known to play whole CD's or compilations of CD's during working hours, is it possible, i.e. legal if burnt/burned CD could be used to give bigger variety whilst still being legally viable?

Thanks very much.

I mean technically, yes you are supposed to have it. But if you really wanted to, i.e. your employer is taking forever to mail it out, couldn't you just take info off your end-of-the-year pay stub and use that to file taxes? I'm sure H and R block wouldnt be too happy about it, but what if you did taxes yourself? Thoughts?

My husband sold a land in india, and gained good profit. He wants to invest the profit in some schemes in order to avoid capital gain tax. REC and National Highway Bonds are advised. But they are not announced for subscription. Can anyone tell me whether nationalised Banks too take deposits of Capital gains.? Any other option available, ?

I got $5,000 signing bonus from the employer in 2005 and I paid income tax on it. I changed job in 2006. Because I have worked less than two years for the employer as required by the contract, I have to pay back about $2,000 to the employer with personal check since my final pay check plus vacation pay could not cover signing bonus. This $2,000 should be deducted from my total income. How do I file tax return to deduct this $2,000? Thank you very much.

Hello everyone, I am a recent graduate from college and I got a $5,000 present from my parents. I would like to invest it somewhere. Stocks or a mutual funds look like a good idea but I am a COMPLETE newby on the whole investing idea. What do you suggest I do? I would like something low-risk but with average returns. I mean I can get 5% from the bank so anything around 10-15% (or more) would be nice.

What do you all think I should do with the money?
