I own a home, brought it in 12/04 (2 years to the date) for $242,000, the Appraised Value as it stands is $305,000 so it has appriciated $63000 in 2 years. Our current mortgage is a 30 yr fixed rate for 5.875%. We are looking into getting a 3 year interest only loan with $30,000 out to finish our basement, and pay off our car, and credit card bills. With everything figured out we will be saving around $200.00 per month to invest or save, and adding 800 square feet of liveable space, which increases our value even more. I am having 2nd thoughts about the interest only part. We are at this time planning on selling in the next 2-2.5 years to try to make some money. What should we do?

Say for instance, you begin working as a career letter carrier, do that for 10-15 years or so and in your spare time (nights/weekends, etc), you get a degree. Do they allow you to move from being a carrier to an administrative/office type position if you have the necessary credentials. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

I was checking my accounts online and I found out that I missed the due date for one of my credit cards by 4 days. I immediately made the payment and I am wondering what will happen to my credit. I have read other questions and they have said that nothing may happen unless it has been 30 days past due, or something of that sort. I am a college student that just received a credit card this year, and I have never made a late payment until now since I got my credit cards about 6 months ago. Please help!

I'll fess up my wife had reconstructive breast surgery last year and we fell behind. One secured line of credit went to a collections agency (name withheld) and we have just completed payment.

But during the payback cycle, they used both a weekly wage garnishment and quarterly bank levies at the same time. This caused all kinds of problems with extra bank fees and check bounces. I could live with one hit but two?

I need to know if this is legal.

I am in California. I own a house which has a tenant with a lease until Feb 2007.
I gave the tenant the first right of refusal to buy the house from Feb -March 1st. I did this with a simple statement to this effect and then signed it. She did not sign it. I talked to the tenant today. She does not intend to buy it. She sent an e-mail stating this as well. Does this void my original promise to her? Can I get sued for selling to someone else ?
If so, can I at least put the property on the market, show it or do whatever else is involved in selling, without closing escrow with someone else until after March 1st? No attorney double talk please, just yes or no answers. If you really don't know don't double talk on the answer. Thanks to all ! C
