I have about only 15 shares of AIG stock, and was told I need to go to a broker (Schwab, TD Ameritrade, etc.). Can I just walk in and sell them? I'm sure there is a fee, but would i have to open an account, etc.? All I want to do is just sell them...nothing more.

I want to buy something from e-bay and don't know how to handle the whole paypal thing. Am I supposed to transfer the funds before I bid so the money is there? I said it takes 6-8 business days for the money to be transfered and sellers almost always want the money within three days. But if I don't win the auction how do I get my money back? I have a credit card on the account also but it doesn't give me the option to pay with it, how come?

I have a friend who is Canadian who recently married an American woman who is disabled receiving a small pension from Social Security. When they decided to make a life together, it was established that the Canadian has stronger family ties than the American does, and she moved to Canada. Also, American's pension isn't taxable because of the small amount.

Here's the following questions:

1) When tax time comes, should each file separately in their own countries? (Married filing separately)

2) If Canadian decides to file American as his dependent, does American still have to file in the US, and declare his income in the US, although he has never worked or lived in the US nor she in Canada?

3) If she no longer lives in the US, is she still required to file her taxes with the IRS every year whether or not she receives her SSDI?

Basically they want to prevent breaking the law, but they obviously don't want to have to pay twice, or pay on income that w

I will be starting a new job soon that will reduce my annual salary from $39,000 to $37,000. Obviously, this is a $2000 difference, but do you think it's really significant? I'm moving from NC to GA, where state payroll taxes are lower. I'm thinking that my take home pay will probably end up being similar, but if anyone knows anything different or has any ideas about this, I'd love to hear it.
