I want to buy something from e-bay and don't know how to handle the whole paypal thing. Am I supposed to transfer the funds before I bid so the money is there? I said it takes 6-8 business days for the money to be transfered and sellers almost always want the money within three days. But if I don't win the auction how do I get my money back? I have a credit card on the account also but it doesn't give me the option to pay with it, how come?

So if the funds aren't in my account will it automatically charge my credit card? I also do not see the tab for funds from other sources.

You don't need a Paypal account when you bid on the item. Setting up with Paypal is simple. Go to www.paypal.com and it pretty much guides you through the process. You don't need to be a verified user to send money. Being verified means you've linked Paypal to your bank account. You can choose to link it to a credit card. You say you already have a credit card on the account. Click on More funding options and it should be there.

Paypay will directly take the money out of your checking account/credit card when you hit the "pay" button after you win the e-bay auction. It will pay for it instantly.
If you get a refund for something through e-bay, the money will remain in your paypal account until you transfer it to your bank account. That is what takes 3-6 business days.
Your credit card is there for back up purposes, and unless it is your main source it won't be used until you select it.

I am a frequent Ebay and Paypal user. I started an account with Paypal and gave my debit card on account.
Each time I purchase something from Ebay, when i pay for the item, it takes me to Paypal. I log in and use the card on account for my purchase.
I don't understand why it wouldn't let you use your credit card? I would think it has something to do with the settings you have with Paypal. If your settings are all set correctly you can always call Paypal Help Center and speak to a rep at 1-402-935-2050
Good Luck.

I have pay pal and I use eBay a lot. Ex. I have like $500 balance there so lets say I wanna buy something worth $20. eBay will automatically take 20 off ur paypal account instead of waiting for a week to get money off ur bank account. But if ur not in a rush then u dont have to put money in ur paypal account. They will do that automatically.

Once you win the auction on eBay pay pal will automatically kick in. You will have to go to your eBay summary section and it will ask you pay now.. click yes and follow the prompts. Then you can use your credit card.
