They can't ask you those questions during an interview...thats discrimination. When you fill out paperwork, such as the initial application if you're hired, then you have to answer those questions, never during an interview

It depends, in an interview for a position NO, by law they can not ask you that in an interview. If you have been hired, then YES, for tax purposes and immigration status, etc they will need your birth date. However they shouldn't ask about your marital status, unless it's about filling out your tax info..

Absolutely not, it is considered discrimination. They can ask if you have a drivers license. On most job applications there is a question, "Are you over the age of eighteen". But the answer would be no, they can't ask your age or your marital status. I double checked this one before I answered.

Absolutely!!!
Why on earth would you be hesitant to give this info to your employer?
You might actually get a birthday card out of the deal.
Besides, you'll need to fill out the appropriate forms for taxation purposes, and my guess is that's why they're asking.

EOE. Equal Oppurtunity Employment. Most employers obide by this. Which mean they don't discriminate against race/age/color/sexual orientation/gender/etc. They technically should not be asking you that information.
